Also, if we consider a conservative estimate of 1 trillion cicadas spread over an area of 1 million acres (about 1,560 square miles or 4,000 square kilometers), the average density would be about 1 million cicadas per acre.

This is equivalent to having roughly 1 cicada per square foot, or 10 cicadas per square meter, across that entire area.
